Coming to current gen digital stores on 24th February 2023 is Lootbox Lyfe+, a Metroidvania-style platformer frin Conradical Games and Ratalaika Games.
In this game, you assume the role of the last Xoobotl (a round creature from the Lootbox Lyfe world) in existence, Liam Cappello (no, really). The world is ruled by the evil “Shadowleaf Irvine” who have dropped Lootboxes into the world. Following their introduction, Xoobotls stopped spending their money on essentials and started dying.

As Liam Capello, you discover a world in ruins, which you must fix by opening lootboxes, visiting interconnected worlds, and finding your way around. Avoid spikes, find paths across rivers, and avoid traps while learning new abilities to combat the games increasing difficulty, or buy hints to make things easier.
With many enemies, platforming challenges, and movement ability combinations, Lootbox Lyfe+ looks like a classic platformer but boasts the fiendishness of modern game design. Unlocking abilities makes movement faster, with a speedrunning mode built in alongside open exploration.
Fascinating areas to explore in the game include:

- A pink fungal wasteland
- Interdimensional structures housing powerful lootbox rewards
- A snowy mining outpost based around extracting materials to make lootboxes
