Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland Coming to NES

Last Updated on September 9, 2023

The Rugrats felt like something everyone but me was into and I was never in on the hype. However, I do feel secondhand hype for the fans because it has been confirmed that Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland is officially landing on the NES!

This was confirmed in a tweet made by MIX Games, in response to someone asking if it was indeed the real deal.

The game was initially announced for consoles and PC for release in 2024 on the same day. Exactly, which consoles were not explained, but we now know the NES is one of them. Funnily enough, the game was developed with the 8-bit style but the cartoon released in the same year as the SNES (1991). Not to mention that you can also toggle between a HD version as well which is more stylised to the the show characters (with the HD version most likely only being for other platforms that are not the NES, of course).

This side-scrolling platformer you can play as Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil who all have their own distinct abilities. There is also an option for local co-op mode in case your buddies want in on venturing through the Pickles’ residence.

A physical copy of console versions is in place, the other consoles and an exact date have no yet been announced so it is now a case of a waiting game. If only I knew a great Rugrats reference to end off on. Guess that’s my cue to go watch the show!
