YouTuber “The Completionist” Purchases Every 3DS And Wii U eShop Game

Last Updated on March 21, 2023

Jirard Khalil, AKA The Completionist, is a popular YouTuber who’s made a name for himself by fully completing games. Jirard goes the extra mile in his videos, making sure each title is completed 100%, including any post-game content, DLC, and Achievements/Trophies.

The Completionist’s latest video, however, is a little bit different and follows his quest to purchase every game on the 3DS and Wii U eShops.

This task is a race against time, as Nintendo announced the closure of the eShops at the end of March 23. What follows is a monumental journey where it turns out that buying all these games is much harder than anyone thought.

Whether it’s wrestling with the console’s archaic storage systems or even the banks declining cards for suspicious purchases, The Completionist and his team really go through hell to make this task a success.

The video closes with some heartfelt farewells to the eShop and a poignant segment about videogame preservation. Every virtual storefront runs the risk of being shut down in the future. Once those servers are turned off, poof, it’s all gone, and many titles that filled those virtual shelves can be lost forever.

The eShop’s imminent closure has prompted many publishers, including Capcom, to put their games for sale on the platform. If you’ve got a 3DS or Wii U, now is the perfect time to fire them up for one final shopping spree.
