The Force Unleashed is included in the STAR WARS Heritage Pack

Star Wars Heritage Pack Is Aspyr’s Attempt to Make Amends

Last Updated on October 9, 2023

Aspyr and Lucasfilm Games have confirmed the physical release of the Star Wars Heritage Pack (2023) for the Nintendo Switch.

Set for release on Dec. 8, 2023, it is now available to pre-order at major retailers starting today!

Over the past few months, Aspyr has looked increasingly at sea, with a KOTOR 2 bug that existed in the original PC game still floating around on the Switch almost 20 years later. Oh, and the cancellation of the promised-and-paid-for DLC for the same game.

While the Star Wars Heritage Pack is already available to buy on the eShop, the physical copy is a combination of previous releases on a single cartridge. However, while the two Knights of the Old Republic games are included, they must be downloaded – they’re not on the cartridge.

(Beats us.)

This video promoting the original digital-only release should serve as a reminder of the collection’s contents:

Here are the key details:

About STAR WARS™ Heritage Pack (2023)

STAR WARS™ Heritage Pack (2023) features seven classic STAR WARS™ games. Learn the way of the Force from Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, take control of a speeding Podracer, lead an elite squad of clones, and more! STAR WARS™ Heritage Pack (2023) includes:

  • STAR WARS™: The Force Unleashed
  • STAR WARS™: Republic Commando
  • STAR WARS™: Episode I Racer
  • STAR WARS™: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
  • STAR WARS™: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
  • STAR WARS™: Knights of the Old Republic*
  • STAR WARS™: Knights of the Old Republic II*

*Requires a digital download

As you can see, none of the Battlefront games (from either generation) or Rogue Squadron titles are included in this pack. Obviously this isn’t ideal, but when it comes to Star Wars games, you’ve got to go with whichever licences are available.

No one ever re-releases Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, do they? Perhaps they should, as surely everyone who ever wanted KOTOR can now play it on the Switch whenever they like.

Failing that, it’s on Steam. Oh, and Android, too.

You can order the physical edition of the Star Wars Heritage Pack for Nintendo Switch on Amazon now.

Meanwhile, the Star Wars Heritage Pack (2023) is currently available for purchase digitally on the Nintendo eShop.
