Star Wars Rogue Squadron

Star Wars Rogue Squadron 3D Free For Amazon Prime Members on May 4th

Star Wars fans have been spoiled this month with the fantastic Jedi Survivor by Electronic Arts. If you prefer the older Star Wars games, don’t worry, you may still be in luck.

From May 4th (I see what you did there), Star Wars Rogue Squadron 3D is available to download from Amazon’s Prime Gaming service. Rogue Squadron 3D is a classic space shooter from 1998 and was released on the Nintendo 64 and PC. Like many similar games of the time, the camera and controls feel a little stiff, but piloting an X-Wing is as fun as it’s ever been. Rogue Squadron 3D doesn’t follow any of the movies, as it’s set between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back.

Nobody seems to talk about Prime Gaming, but if you use Amazon Prime for shopping or streaming movies, you’re likely missing out on a huge library of free games! Many of the titles are relatively unknown, but you can’t go wrong with classics like the Metal Slug games or King of Fighters.

Amazon Prime games are limited to PC, but considering Star Wars Rogue Squadron is 25 years old, it should run on just about anything.

If you can’t get enough Star Wars content this month and you own an Xbox, Star Wars Episode 1 Racer is available until the end of May on Games With Gold.
