Spinter Cell: Blacklist

Reminder: Ubisoft PS3 and Xbox 360 Games Decommissioned in October

Last Updated on September 26, 2022

Early September was when various older online Ubisoft PS3 and Xbox 360 titles were meant to be decommissioned. These include Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell Blacklist and Assassin’s Creed II and Assassin’s Creed III (original version) alongside single-player DLC of these PC titles. The company decided to extend the date to 1st October.

However, certain titles will remain undisturbed by this, such as Far Cry 3 Classic Edition, Assassin’s Creed III Remastered and remastered editions of Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed Revelations all within the  Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection.

Ubisoft explain their reasoning behind this on their website’s updated page: “Decommissioning online services for older games is something we do not take lightly, but it is also a necessity as the technology that drove those services becomes obsolete”. They then go on to say, “over the last month, our teams have been hard at work exploring what is possible to reduce disruption.”

Affected titles are on PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and Wii U. The list includes the titles below (note that Space Junkies is now decommissioned):

  • Anno 2070, PC
  • Assassin’s Creed II, PC, PS3
  • Assassin’s Creed III (2012 Release), PC, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360
  • Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, PC, Xbox 360, PS3
  • Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD, PC
  • Assassin’s Creed Revelations, PS3, Xbox 360
  • Driver: San Francisco, PC, PS3, Xbox 360
  • Far Cry 3 (2012 Release), PC, PS3, Xbox 360
  • Ghost Recon Future Soldier, PS3, Xbox 360
  • Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, PC
  • Rayman Legends, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360
  • Silent Hunter 5, PC
  • Space Junkies, PC (HTC VIVE, Oculus)
