New Arrivals! Three More NES and SNES Games on Nintendo Switch

Three more classic NES and Super NES games are now ready to play on Nintendo Switch if you have the Switch Online subscription.

The games in question are Congo’s Caper (1993) and Rival Turf! (1992), both for Super Nintendo, and Pinball (1983) for the NES.

An unusual trio of titles, they’re all playable in their own way but the announcement lacks any particular big hitters. While Congo’s Caper is fun enough, it’s a bit formulaic; Pinball is a good pinball machine experience; Rival Turf! stuggles with Street Fighter comparisons.

But they are good additions to a library that already boasts Super Mario World, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, Super Mario Kart, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, Star Fox, Star Fox 2, F-ZERO, Stunt Race FX, Pilotwings, Kirby Super Star, Kirby’s Dream Land 3, Kirby’s Dream Course, Super Ghouls’n Ghosts, Demon’s Crest, Super Soccer, Super Puyo Puyo 2, Breath Of Fire, Breath of Fire II, Brawl Brothers, Super E.D.F Earth Defense Force, Super Tennis, Joe and Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics, Super Punch-Out!!, Shadow of the Ninja, Eliminator Boat Duel, and various others for NES.

Throw in the massive library of SNES games on the Switch that includes Double Dragon, Metroid, Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Donkey Kong 3, Kirby’s Adventure and many more, and these new releases just feel like the slightly less good cartridges your aunty might have bought for your birthday, rather than the best selling classics you already have.
