Stoker Commodore 64 Platformer Development Wows Twitter

Last Updated on May 29, 2024

Considering the Commodore 64 stopped production in 1994, the volume of releases in the third decade of the 21st century is astonishing.

Take Stoker, for example, a platformer from Rhys Clatworthy that boasts probably the most engaging and cute main character animation of any Commodore 64 game to date.

This is the tweet that grabbed attention on Twitter this week, but you can check the longer example above. “Cute” doesn’t really cover it, does it?

Rhys Clatworthy’s Ko-Fi page features a collection of interesting preliminary sketches and screenshots from Stoker. Naturally you should take the opportunity to contribute to the project as it is visually stunning and could prove to be one of the most memorable Commodore 64 games since the platform ceased production.

Stoker remains in development, but hopefully we’ll be able to play it one day…
