Pre-orders Open for Anbernic RG353V and RG353VS Retro Handhelds

Last Updated on September 29, 2022

Chinese retro console outfit Anbernic has announced the opening of pre-orders for its upcoming Game Boy-esque RG353V and RG353VS handhelds.

Both devices feature a 3.5-inch IPS display wth 640×480 pixel resolution, 3,200mAh battery, HDMI output, Bluetooth 4.2, and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11 ac). Inside, the Rockchip RK3566 chipset and a 16GB microSD card run the game emulators and OS. Like other Anbernic products, the RG353V and RG353VS handhelds run Android, with a Linux OS also included.

The RG343V has a few more features than the cheaper sibling, such as a touchscreen, extra RAM, and eMMC 5.1 flash storage. It also supports wireless screen projection.

You can pre-order the Anbernic RG353V and RG353VS for around £105 on the website, although note that the myriad options are all displaying the same price at this time, which seems wrong. Given there is the option of black, grey, purple, and white shells, differing eMMC flash storage capacities, and of course the two models, you would expect different prices for some of these permutations.

Orders should begin shipping from October 10th, 2022.
