New Game Boy Advance Game Details: Chip’s Challenge and Ninja Five-O

Last Updated on March 1, 2024

It’s been a big week for GBA fans, with two new Game Boy Advance game releases.

First, we’ve got Chip’s Challenge, which is getting a belated release on the Nintendo handheld. Courtesy of The Retro Room Games, the classic puzzler is available in physical form for £37.99, with cartridge, box, and manual.

The same publisher has already brought the 1989 puzzler to SNES and Sega Mega Drive/Genesis in 2021, and Chip’s Challenge landed on the Nintendo Switch earlier this year. It has also previously been released on Steam.

The original Chip’s Challenge came out on the Atari Lynx, and is a handheld game at heart. Having said that, it has already been released on all mannaer of desktop platforms. I first attempted to guide Chip through those challenges and into the Bit Busters Club on the Commodore 64 (it was also issued on MS-DOS, Atari ST, Amiga, ZX Spectrum, and Amstrad CPC), and more recently have revisited the title on the Atari Lynx Collection 2 on Evercade.

Head to The Retro Room Games website to pre-order Chip’s Challenge on the GBA.

Ninja Five-O gets PlayStation and Switch release

While not strictly a new Game Boy Advance game release, a GBA classic is nevertheless heading to two current platforms, courtesy of Limited Run Games.

Ninja Five-O is considered one of the best GBA games ever, and joins Felix the Cat as a Konami property heading for physical re-release in 2024 via Limited Run.

Release details for Ninja Five-O are currently unknown. Keep an eye on the Limited Run Games website for pre-order information.
