Debug Magazine Announced Covering All Things Indie Games

Last Updated on March 7, 2023

Debug, a new quarterly magazine showcasing indie games, is set to launch in April 2023. Debug Magazine made the announcement on Twitter, and there’s been a tremendously positive reception proving the Indie scene is near and dear to many people.

According to Debug Magazine, indie games exploded in popularity in 2022, with 31% more PC and console gamers playing them than in 2021. One of Debug’s primary goals is to aid in that growth and give presence to titles that may otherwise go unnoticed.

Many of my favourite games are created by small indie developers, and it’s heartbreaking to see some of them get drowned in the sea of shovelware on storefronts like Steam. If Debug goes some way to changing that, I’m all for it.

Physical printed magazines seem like such a rarity nowadays, so it’s great to see a new venture covering these titles. On top of indie releases on new consoles, Debug Magazine wants to cover new titles on retro hardware and will be hosting an Indie Showcase at the OL’ 23 Video Games Convention.

Debug Magazine debuts in April, and you can register to be notified when it goes live on the official website.
