Classic Doctor Who Video Games Free eBook

Recent news of a James Bond games book reminded me that I co-authored a collection of classic Doctor Who video games.

A few years ago, I was the editor of a once-popular Doctor Who news site.. At one point, we thought it might be good to collect some particularly good interviews into a magazine – a fanzine – and this worked out so well it was decided to make a second issue, dedicated to Doctor Who video games.

On reflection, this was perhaps the beginning of my expressed interest in retro gaming.

As one of the team members (James McLean, who also composed the cover art) had worked on the Nintendo Wii Doctor Who game, and we had contacts for various other creatives and writers with prior input into the Doctor’s pixelated adventures, it made sense.

The result was Kasterborous Magazine #2. Featuring interviews and storyboards on everything from the earliest 8-bit games to 2012’s The Eternity Clock, the magazine was initially available in print or as a paid PDF. That soon changed, however, as printing prices began to rise, and we opted to give the book away.

I’m currently thinking about a revised version of this, in a more book-like form. Regardless, you can download the free PDF of this Doctor Who video games Kasterborous Magazine.
