Atari 50 Game List Expands With Holiday Content Update

Last Updated on December 1, 2023

If you thought the Atari 50 game list was missing a few 2600-era classics, you’re about to have a great Christmas…

Here’s some excellent news if you enjoyed the Atari 50 collection. It’s list of games is about to get an upgrade, with a further 12 titles joining the decade-spanning celebratory release.

Take a look at how it was announced:

Incredibly, while they’re not flogging sports jackets and other overpriced tat, Atari do know how to treat genuine retro gamers.

Here’s a list of some of the suspected additions, all previously hinted to be Atari 2600 titles.

  • Basketball
  • Steeplechase

Meanwhile, several other titles were absent from the Atari 50 game list, including:

  • Joust
  • Pitfall
  • Frogger
  • Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
  • Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark
  • E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial

Could any of these games be heading to the Atari 50 collection…? Well, maybe the first three…

Original Atari 50 game list

As the original Atari 50 omitted some key entries in the company’s game collection (despite including 103 games), this update is certainly well timed. It’s just over a year since the collection launched on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series X|S, PlayStation 4|5, and Windows PC, before later hitting the Atari VCS.

Here’s the original list:
